If you choose a photographer who doesn’t have a genuine understanding of Indian weddings then you might find they don’t meet your needs.

In the UK the focus of weddings is usually on the wedding day itself. In Indian cultures a wedding is more of an event than a day, and will often last for several days. It might be that you have planned dedicated ceremonies leading up to the main day that include henna tattoos being drawn or dances being performed as part of your celebration. Just because these don’t happen during the actual ceremony doesn’t mean they are any less important.

Family roles can also be different in different cultures and there might be certain members of the family who expect to have specific photographs taken with the couple or each other. This might seem unusual to a photographer who doesn’t specialise in Indian wedding photography.
