Best Poses For Asian Wedding Photography
Here at Photography by Jermaine Chandra, I excel in creating Asian wedding photography that really brings the images to life and will be remembered for generations to come. The candid style of photography I use for couple poses is the perfect complement to the style of photography from the wedding as a whole.
To capture the right image lots of things need to come together such as the lighting and the background, but the focal point of any great image is how the happy couple are posed. A lot of the time, there are a wide variety of natural poses too that simply just happen on the day, and I’m happy to be there to capture those unscripted moments.
Here I will discuss a variety of poses that Asian wedding photographers can use to really give the images of your big day a boost.
The Gentle Hug
There’s nothing that says ‘I love you’ more than taking your loved one into your arms in a loving embrace. This image works well if the groom is taller than the bride and he can stand behind or to one side and place his arms around the top of the torso, while she places her arms lower around the hips. You can both be face on to the camera with this technique, or turned to face each other and the picture is taken as you gaze into each other’s eyes.
The Kiss on the Forehead
An absolute classic, the forehead kiss from groom to bride is something that says ‘I will love you and protect you, you are special’ without having to utter a word. This kind of image speaks volumes and can really highlight the love between to people. You may choose to have your eyes open or closed during this shot, but it’s best created with the background out of focus to really concentrate on the characters in the foreground and their loving actions.
The Sitting Pose
There are multiple ways this can play out in the family photo album. The bride and groom can be seated next to each other holding hands, which gives the photographer the opportunity to capture the entirety of the garments being worn from head to toe. The groom can also stand behind the bride with hands on shoulders, or alternatively the bride can be photographed on her own, seated and looking back to the camera for a playful look.
The Standing Couple
Just like the two small people on top of the wedding cake, a standing pose can give a plain yet contemporary style to the photos. The couple can stand face on to the camera hand in hand, or walking away and looking back over their shoulders. Standing poses also look great in chosen locations such as on staircases, or in specially designed wedding pergolas and gazebos. It’s often shots like this which hold the most memories as the couple are casual and relaxed, not posing.
